Job Description:
Our client is looking for a DBA to lead the design and implementation of database structures and components. Activities will also encompass assisting development teams from table design through SQL language tuning, database replication and supporting database environments in test and production.
Mandatory Prerequisites:
* 5+ years of DBA work experience on DB2 Z/OS and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
* Experience with DB2 V8 and SQL Server 2000 or 2005 required
* Demonstrated ability to code and tune SQL language for optimal efficiencies
* Experience with data replication
* Demonstrated ability to transform business data models into implementable, tunable, supportable physical structures that satisfy business requirements
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Strong inter-personal skills
* Works well within a diverse team environment. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain credibility and cooperative relationships with clients and co-workers
* Takes initiative to identify opportunities for improvement
* Strong problem solving skills and critical thinking skills
* Strong ability to organize and work quickly
* Superior diplomacy, judgment and tact
